Job Description:

Our client, a leading international shipping and logistics group operating across Africa, is seeking a hands-on Accountant for its operations in Antananarivo, Madagascar. This role reports to the Finance Manager / Regional Financial Controller.

Responsibilities:

• Process day-to-day accounting entries and balance sheet management.
• Prepare bank and ledger reconciliations and support the monthly accounting close.
• Ensure accurate local tax filings, statutory compliance, and payroll accounting.
• Prepare routine financial reporting for local management and Group finance teams.
• Assist internal/external auditors during annual audit reviews

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Proven hands-on accounting experience (minimum 3–5 years).
• Professional fluency in French is a strong advantage (English required).
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent accounting qualification.
• Proficiency with local taxation, PCG (Plan Comptable Général), and mainstream accounting software/ERPs.
• Background in shipping, logistics, freight, mining, or audit (big 4 / mid-tier) preferred.
